The Active Membership is intended for individuals directly involved in the oil, natural gas, hydrocarbon storage, or solution-mining industries.

The Retired Membership recognizes individuals who have contributed to the industry and wish to remain connected following retirement.
Eligibility typically applies to individuals aged 55 or older whose combined age and years of OPI membership equal at least 70, and who are in good standing.
