This short course will introduce the basic concepts and theory related to the design and analysis of pressure transient tests. The course material will demonstrate how to use well testing results to learn more about the reservoir.
Topics will include:
Mathematical Basis for Pressure Analysis
Basic Concepts (Flow Regimes, Skin Effect, Flow Efficiency, Wellbore Storage, Principals of Superposition, and Radius of Investigation)
Types of Tests
Quantitative Analysis of Pressure Transient Tests (Type Curve Matching, Semi Log Method, Bourdet Derivative)
Gas Well Deliverability Testing
Data Acquisition from Surface
Data Evaluation and Processing
