One of the fundamental objectives of the OPI is to communicate to the public on the significance of the oil and natural gas, hydrocarbon storage and salt/solution mining industries to the Province of Ontario through education, resources and training to support members and provide information to the public that the industry safely and responsibility explores, produces and stores oil and natural gas.

These resources include the Ontario Oil, Gas and Salt Resources Library, educational documents, various publications and training programs that are available to provide expertise and experience to advance the interest of Ontario oil and natural gas sector.
